I was visiting from out of town. Two warning lights came on as i was driving to Sacramento so I needed to get it checked out before driving home. All went well except I would have appreciated regular contact from the service writer. I did not hear back from him either by phone text or email. i got auto generated alerts from their software. I called, sent a text and then called again , over two days, and finally got him on the phone. I think a simple call the day I brought it in would have been the very least he could have done. A - hey, we haven't had a chance to look at it, I will call you tomorrow' would have sufficed. instead i had to call and call to get an update. While I understand things have gone digital, I would also have appreciated having him go over everything when I arrived to pay my bill. Instead, i just paid and was sent an email with the details. I know some of this is petty, and since i was from out of town, and would not be a regular customer, he may not have wanted to spend the time on me, but I still think good customer service to all is the best way to run a business.

Takes photos of what needs to be repaired. Efficient, polite but lacks personal touch regarding questions about repairs. While invoices and photos sent to email is great, I have to call with questions.

I was visiting in Rocklin from Colfax for my granddaughter’s birthday party. It was close to 10 PM when we were going to head for home and I want to turn on the car and there was no power at all. I thought the battery died. I was trying to call through my insurance company to get a tow and whatever was needed but they had me on hold for a long time while they were helping somebody else! I decided to leave with other family members and came back on Monday! We decided to have it towed to a mechanic in Rocklin. They gave us three names of places, and I chose Jack Dane Auto Service in Rocklin. They just seemed like the best choice. I am glad I chose them because they were very kind and very helpful! I asked them what could be wrong with my car because we had the battery checked by Napa and they said nothing was wrong with it! They said we will definitely have to check it out because there’s a lot of different things that it could be! The shop was very tidy and very clean, and they were so kind it just seemed like I could really trust them! So that was pretty late in the afternoon and they told us they would check it all out and get back to us! So we went home and they called the next day letting me know what the problem was. It was the starter motor! They also sent me a list of other things that they checked out and could use attention, and they gave me pricing on everything also! And a lot of the things that they suggested they sent pictures they had taken to show me also, what was wrong. I had no idea my car needed all that attention. A couple things they had said had come to my attention in the past, but they said it could wait. It doesn’t surprise me because it is 22 years old but no one has ever told me that all those things needed attention! So I couldn’t afford to get everything done right away, but chose a few things! And they did quite a few things at no charge, even installing some new windshield wipers I had! So I was able to Google the prices they said and see if they were in a good price range & they were! I was totally happy And satisfied with everything they did! I think they are very honest, and I have been to a couple places in the past that we’re not so honest! I would recommend them to anyone who needs auto service! Especially women because most of the time women do not know very much about cars! And I thought it was great that they sent me pictures on the problems of some of them! And I could tell that those problems have been like that for quite a while! So if you would like to be treated like a valued customer and to feel that you can trust those repairing your vehicles, Jack Dane is the place to go! I live about 35 miles away and I will probably go to them for more repairs instead of where I used to! A satisfied customer, Jennie C.

They took there time to find the issue and actually fully inspecting my vehicle work well done

I'm very happy with my visit to this shop. The waiting area and shop are neat and tidy and the location open and easy to get to. The shop set me up with a link to see what was happening as my vehicle was inspected. The work recommended was fine and I plan to go back as needed to keep my car in good shape. As an older women, this shop fit my criteria as a go-to place for my auto work.

This place is charging double for parts and materials, and who know how much more for labor... My quote to replace a transmission pan on a 2014 Suburu Impreza was $647 and change. I called the Suburu dealership and the pan was $125 and the 8qtz of oil was $144. I got charged 180.62 for the pan and $233.60 for the oil 30-38% above Suburu. Plus $1251.95 for brakes, therefore we had it towed to another shop. Also they tried to hold our car hostage by saying they would void the transmission warranty if we towed it somewhere else. I would NOT recommend this place..

I'm sorry that you weren't pleased with our service. Let me state, when a vehicle is serviced at a repair shop, the cost of the parts will always be higher than if you buy the parts over the counter or online. The overhead to operate a repair shop is much higher than a parts store or a parts department. Parts purchased over the counter are at what is called "list" price. We have a long warranty, quality OE manufacturer parts and amazing technicians, we can't offer all those AND charge list price for parts. So, because of those factors, we stand behind our pricing. As far as the warranty, our concern was being unable to drive the vehicle to confirm the validity of our repairs due to the unsafe brake condition. To be clear, we could not determine the status of repairs without repairing the brakes and giving the vehicle a thorough test drive. I mentioned to Phil today that we have been bringing our cars to his shop for over 20 years now. We raised two kids with the cars he has serviced. In that time I have changed doctors and dentists many times because I no longer trusted their judgment or skills, but I’m still with Phil. He and his team have helped us with several CSI level car issues and they have fixed them everytime. I passed several shops to drive a little bit further because I know Phil will do his best to save me money when he can while still doing quality work. The only issue I have is I have only seen the dog once and even then he walked away from me toward the back. I think they have him doing tires. -Randy Wynn
